Real Media Artefact - Contents page (2)

The name of the magazine is clearly shown at the top of the left hand side of the page in the signature font of the magazine as it is following the house style throughout the magazine. This shows the audience what page they are on and how to find what they are looking for.The text containing information about what is in the magazine is displayed down wards in one tidy column on the left hand side. The black font is displayed on top of a white background so the font stands out and is easy for the audience to read. The picture of the band Oasis is spread across three quarters of the page which represents the fact that this issue is a special on the band.To also show that this magazine is a special Oasis edition there is a boxed column in gold font which contains page numbers and information about what you can expect to see in this magazine about Oasis the band.At the bottom left of the page there is a column which has a red sub heading showing what is always is in the magazine.
Having this in the magazine is handy because this means that the audience can look back and see where about's the features they like are in this weeks edition of the magazine. The text in the box which shows what is in the magazine each week does not contain as much text as the reader has a sense of familiarity because if the reader gets this magazine every time it is released they know what is in the magazine and what each section has got in it. Whereas the features box has a lot more text in it to explain to the audience what each sub heading is about. At the bottom of the page in the right hand corner there is a box which contains information on the latest reviews of CD's and music that is relevant to the genre of this rock/indie magazine. In this box in each sub heading there are little bits of journalistic type writing which gives you a snippet of an opinion on each of the things that have been reviewed.
